Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Unison mobile application (the "App") provided by UNISON City of Stoke on Trent Local Government Branch ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using the App you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the App. By using the App you confirm that you meet this requirement and that any information you provide is accurate.
2. Your Account
Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the App for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App or its systems;
- interfere with or disrupt the App, its servers, or networks;
- submit content that is unlawful, abusive, or infringes the rights of others.
4. Notifications & Location Features
The App may request permission to access your device location and to send push notifications in order to deliver location-relevant content. These features are optional and can be controlled through your device settings. How we handle this data is described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Content & Polls
Content provided through the App is for information purposes and may change without notice. Where you submit responses to polls or other input, you grant us the right to use that information to operate the relevant features of the service.
6. Intellectual Property
The App and all related content, trademarks, and software are owned by or licensed to UNISON City of Stoke on Trent Local Government Branch and are protected by applicable laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for its intended purpose.
7. Third-Party Services
The App relies on third-party services (including Google Firebase for push notifications). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the App's availability, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if you breach these Terms or where necessary to protect the service or other users.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of that jurisdiction will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
